I have an ASUS G53SW-XA1. My 3 year old managed to destroy the screen (as kids are so skilled at.) I'm an Electrical Engineer, and since ASUS refuses to give me a quote, I KNOW I can do this myself.

I KNOW can easily replace the screen with the part 18G241560020Q, which is the screen I had. (1080p TFT 15.6" LED 60Hz)

Where my uncertainty (and thus, my question) arises...

What other options do I have? I'm new to this whole 3D game, mainly because most Active3D hurts my eyes, but nVidia's didn't bother me. I tried it on The Witcher 2 and Guild Wars 2 at PAX East. None of that post-3D headache that I am used to.

So I was thinking of buying some Glasses (and of course, an adapter) but I know they require 120Hz, and ASUS only has 120Hz in 768.

Has anyone tried installing a 15.6" 1080p 120Hz aftermarket screen? I might even consider taking the hit in resolution and going with a 768 120Hz if I can.

I'm new to laptops and laptop modding. Been doing PC's for years, but it was only recently I got my first laptop. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm thinking something like the ASUS G51J-SZ028v. I know 3D only works in the lower resolution, but that I don't mind. It's nice that I can go back to 1080p when in non-3D.

Edit: ASUS doesn't have in their records any screen's resolution. I was given 4 part numbers used in the ASUS G53SW series.

    18G241560405Q--- ???? Samsung LTN156AT02-P06

One of those two monitors is the one with 120Hz... which I would imagine would be the 0312Q given the descriptor, but CPT's site is not in English.
