So I just bought a G53, which comes with a 1 year global + accidental warranty. I'm considering if it's worth it to buy an extended warranty either through ASUS or through a third part (e.g. squaretrade). My laptop arrived with some of the backlit keys not lighting up all the way so I had to sent in right away. I've also heard so many horror stories about the laptop having power button, power plug, LCD, and heating issues. Do you guys think it's worth it to invest in one? This laptop will have cost me ~1100 after rebate. Squaretrade 3 year warranty is around 159.99 though I have heard of coupons that might be able to bring it lower.
Thanks.

If after a few years it conked out as well you may be able to get a replacement to a newer model so warranties do have up sides as well as coming with inconvenience waiting for it to be repaired. -
i paid 180 for a 3 yeard adw... well worth it
