    Hi All,

I have an Asus G53SX and a Dell 30" 2560x1600 resolution monitor at work. I brought my laptop into work along with an AWM highspeed HDMI cable, yet I am only getting 1920x1080 resolution. How can I get this to show at 2560x1600?

    Thanks!

If you have your monitors set as "Duplicate" it will do the same resolution as the notebook screen. Change it to "Extend" and you should be able to change resolutions then.

Hmm. my cable says highspeed, but must not be 1.4. All I get is 1920x1080P, nothing higher.

It's too early a machine to be anything else really, so 1080p will be the max.

That HDMI could be limited to 1920 x 1200 since it's an early version of NB.
Have you tried the VGA D-Sub port yet?

Yeah I get a slightly higher resolution with VGA, but with HDMI just 1920x1080, that's lame. Maybe time for an upgrade, never liked this ASUS much.

If you go for a new one make sure it has a display port output.

If you just needed to support the monitor's resolution for display purposes use only but not gaming then you can consider purchasing this type of adapter using an USB 3.0 port.
