    Hi guys,

I'm new here, this is my first post. I came across this awesome laptop on blackfriday and had to jump on the deal. The ASUS G53SX-XT1.

I've been using a MacbookPro for some time now (im a graphic/web designer) and it has been great. I decided I wanted to get something portable for gaming and saw this badboy.

The first thing I noticed after installing a couple things is the INSANELY horrible sounds coming from the speakers. Is this normal?

I loaded up a couple youtube music videos and it sounds like it is coming from a $50 dollar netbook. Movies, games, anything. On my MacbookPro and even my old Sony, the sound was normal.

Am I doing something wrong? I tried the THX sound thing, changing it to external speakers, but it still sounds washed out and very crappy.

Is this what I am to expect from a Gaming Laptop?

The MBP has a resonance chamber that acts like a woofer of sorts, they call it a subwoofer, but...

The G53 doesn't have anything but small speakers. Have you heard another notebook? It's pretty average sound I would say. You may be able to use some EQ to make it better for your ears.
