****MOD EDIT****
Since this post was infringing on the forum rules, i am forced to remove it. However, the information is useful and readily available in a thread in the hardware section: http://forum.notebookreview.com/har...dge-throttling-permanent-fix.html#post8197737
You can read it there for reference.
You are free to continue the discussion on the G53 using the Intel IGP here though.

EDIT: The post here was a duplicate of the one i linked minus a few infringing bits so the "original" is still available for consultation

Simply amazing. What version VBIOS do you have? I believe I have the latest one, which is 70.06.25.00. 0C (at least I have not seen any newer ones).

Lannigan, sorry that your post was deleted. I read it all, and what you accomplished is simply amazing. My only issue with the G53 is the poor battery life, but using the Intel GPU would solve it completely. More than 4h battery life in a gaming laptop is really a dream come true for me.
That said, I think having a BIOS option to enable the Intel GPU and disable the Nvidia GPU would be even better than Optimus. That technology still has bugs, and bypassing it completely would avoid them. In some instances these bugs may not even be Optimus' fault, as some games are very temperamental. Fallout 3 for instance dislikes Core i CPUs, and requires fallout.ini edits to run (verified on the Asus G53SW, Acer 3820TG).
So if you find an Nvidia options BIOS that is not corrupt and is compatible with our G53SW (writing this from memory, so I may not be accurate), just unlock the BIOS switch if you can without worrying about Optimus. Any BIOS you release would be experimental anyway, and most people who install it know what they are doing.
If you need beta testers, let me know. -
If someone can PM me the original post I'd appreciate it.

I believe it was a duplicate of this one.
Would love to hear your thoughts about this. -
Yeah, it was a duplicate and thus i was forced to take it down, the original thread can be found either in sarge's link or in the original post which i modified. I can assure you that the post linked in the first post of this thread is an exact duplicate of what was posted here minus the language filter bypasses.
Given that the thread in hardware was more active, i took the duplicate post down. Discussion regarding this can be continued here without problem though. -
@OP: Interesting read, however you seem to ramble quite a bit. You should really post a tl;dr version of just quick bullet points for the important parts now that you have the full version down, so the rest of us can easily follow or navigate what you've done. Concise posts are valuable.
G53sw Im using intel onboard!!!
