G53sw and 460m gtx - Hardware or Driver problem?

Good Afternoon,

I recently bought a G53SW through Newegg and when I turned it on, most images are rendered strangely.

I have uninstalled, reinstalled the packaged drivers but this has not changed and I am worried it is a hardware problem.

Update:

I ran dxdiag and recieved no errors. I believe that is a good sign that it is a driver issue. Due to my slow internet, it takes approx. 30 mins to download the drivers.
I am downloading 285.27 at the moment and will try to use Driver Sweep for pre-install.

I still don't understand why the original display drivers would cause this problem.. :/

 

hi smellon, it looks like your resolution is set wrong. You want it to be 1920x1080. Right click on a blank area of your desktop, pick screen resolution, check your settings

Although the screenshots may not show it, my resolution is set to 1920x1080. Thank you though.

The colors are beginning to make me sick haha.

 

i see, so the resolution is right. Can you explain a little more about "most images are rendered strangely" i can't really tell in the pics whats wrong with it. It is the color that's bothering you or the icons etc are distorted?

 

Yes, it is the colors. Just to make sure, but there are green lines and pixels all within the posted screen shots. I have tried the method of clean installing the drivers that was posted earlier, but the same effect persists.

Also, the same color effects even occur in the BIOS screens.

 

Also, the "background" of this website appears to be a pinkish color and the boxes where "Thread tools" and "Search" flicker pink and white..

I'm thinking this may need to be sent back..

 

The pictures look normal to me. What could be causing the problem is the actual LCD screen which if so would have to be sent in. I suspect this is the case since the pictures look fine when i view them. This would be expected if you're using a program to take a screen shot, it will take an image of what it's supposed to look like and not transfer any defects in the LCD monitor to the image.

Do you have another computer that you can look at the images on and check to see if you the trouble spots are shown on that one too.
