G53sw bios on G73sw Need HELP

Hi guys got my motherboard replaced it is a g73sw but it has g53sw BIOS on it :S which is preventing my gpu fan from spinning at all... Anyone know how to bios flash the correct bios? when i try to flash with g73sw bios using winflash i get a error in winflash saying, " The BIOS file version does not match the BIOS ROM version. Click exit to exit" So how do i install g73sw bios on this g73sw motherboard??? Anyone have any steps?? Thanks heaps!

Edit: just tryed using easy flash from bios when i select the file it says model name doesnt match, how do i force the flash anyway???

Edit: Juat tryed aflash2 and that wouldnt let me install the g73sw bios either, is there any bios flasher that lets you bios flash with any bios file?

That's really interesting, can you take a pic of your BIOS setup screen that shows the G53 identifier?

A newer version of aflash2 may be what you need. Older versions of the utility won't allow you to flash newer Aptio BIOS images. There are a couple of known switches, the ones that are relevant to you are:

aflash2 /auto:biosfilename.rom /force

Or you can try afudos, which is part of a toolset that comes straight from AMI. You'll want to read up on it first.

Usually just typing in the exe name without any commands will bring up a list of possible switches and commands.

 

Thanks heaps i will look into it the next couple days, is it just loading program in dos selecting file and doing that command and wait for process to complete? Haven't looked at that link yet but does it give a noob tutorial or anything? Thanks again.

 

He gave you the right command to force flash the file in aflash2, just make sure the file name is correct (and insert it where he put biosfilename.rom) and is the right file as it will flash pretty much anything!

 

Yeah you need to use it from DOS just like aflash2.

In the zip archive inside the Aptio/afudos folder there is another zip archive called afudos.zip. Inside this zip file there is a changelog, readme, and pdf user guide. Luckily it's pretty well documented, unlike aflash2.

If you want to try aflash2 again, from what I've read 3.03 and later can flash APTIO images:

Thanks guys appreciate it soooo much!!! used aflash2 again this time with the command it worked correct bios now working on my g73sw, gtx 560M i got was faulty so now i have to send that back got my stock dieing gtx 460m in with the top keyboard and cover off and a huge desk fan on the mainboard idling at 70-75c lol dam dieing card even a 10min bake didnt do anything lol, all in all thanks for the command helped me 100%
