I have read all of the information I could find on the touch pad issues and most directed me to the g73's

In short I have G53SX and an erratic touchpad that some times freezes or jumps around. Am I currently just doomed to wait until a fixed bios is released or is their more options for the G53SX that I have not found.

Recently i bought one of the G53SX-XN1. Ididn't find any major problem except scrolling up/down...i have installed latest Synaptic Pointing Device driver from their website. Now it seems better. Try installing it.

I have already tried all the latest synaptic drivers as well as the "fixed" ones.

In most cases, erratic touchpad behavior is due to poor manufacturing techniques resulting in an electrical short involving the touchpad. Since it sounds like you've already attempted a software fix, I recommend you PM Chastity about your touchpad issue and set up an RMA. Chastity is the "erratic touchpad specialist" at ASUS ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/8224916-post3.html)

Alternatively, you can fix the touchpad by installing a new one and paying particular attention that it is properly grounded.
