    First, I apologize for anything dumb I might say. I don't know much about the different Asus computers and what model is what.

    With that said, I'm looking for a decent gaming PC and I have my eyes on this:

    Amazon.com: ASUS G53SX-XA1 15.6-Inch Gaming Laptop - Republic of Gamers (Black): Computers & Accessories

    * Intel Core i7-2630QM (2.0GHz with Turbo Boost)
    * 8GB DDR3 1333MHz , 4 SODIMM Sockets, up to 16GB
    * 750G 5400 RPM; DL DVD±RW/CD-RW
    * 15.3-Inch Full HD (1920x1080) LED Display;Nvidia GTX 560M Graphics with 2GB GDDR5
    * Windows Home Premium 64-bit Operating System

    I've heard of some of the Nvidia GTX 560M graphic cards being nerfed versions and I have no idea how to tell if this one is or not.

    Does anyone know if this is a decent laptop for the value or what any of the flaws with it might be that I can't tell from my limited knowledge looking at specs.

    Any feedback would be great, and if this question was already answered somewhere on this forum I failed to find it searching for G53SX-XA1.

    Thanks!

    It is nerfed the 2GB is the 128bit version you can tell this because of the Vram amount the extra bus width allows an extra 1GB so 192bit comes with 3GB. For example the 460M 192bit came with 1.5GB and the 460M 128bit came with 1GB and so on...

    The laptop is smart looking comes with a good CPU and all the extras and the GPU is on par with the 192bit version of the 460M GTX. But you can do better and save money by just picking up a G53SW or forking out a bit more for the G74SX. If you intend to game splashing out on a more powerful card will always be a better choice because the GPU on mid range systems is always the bottleneck, and Asus love mid range systems :)

    It will handle itself though and its your choice at the end of the day if you want it and can get it for a good price it will do the business.
