    I have a G60J , and recently i bought a gd245hq monitor capable of having a refresh rate of 120 HZ .
The monitor can only reproduce 120hz if it's connected via DVI-D ( dual link ) , but the laptop only has HDMI output , so i bought a HDMIto DVI-D cable .

But the 120HZ option won't show :\ only 60 , maybe cause the hdmi output of the laptop won't support 120 hz , is there any way to see the laptop hdmi version ?

If i said there wasnt a point we would start an argument of course. There might be a point if your gaming at way over 60fps.

One problem with 120hz is the actual avaliable bandwidth. You can't run at say 2560x1920 and 120hz (you might be able to on the latest spec but u cant on earlier ones) You can in 1080i/720P for sure and maybe 1080P i havent kept up.

I cant say people cared about refresh rate support since tubes went out of style so id like to see where this goes. But below 60 fps the frame is just interpolated, which can at times produce a smoother looking image.
