So my Asus G60JX has been cutting off while playing Skyrim. So far, I've switched PSUs, bought a powered usb hub to try and lessen the load on the laptop and I have a dual-fan cooler. While running MSI Afterburner, I notice it runs about 87-89 degrees C before everything just powers off.

So I'm waiting for my dad to get home with a compressed air can so I can blow out the fan. I open it up and aside from this:

I noticed this wire just hangin' around, not attached to anything (the grey one):

Now, I'm generally knowledgeable enough to realize that most of the time you don't have disconnected wires in computers like this. I'm no expert though, so I've been trying to find pictures of other G60JXs opened up to compare, but I can't tell where the wire is supposed to go. From a very basic perspective it looks like the wire leads towards the VGA input, which I haven't had issues with. I'm afraid to put this back together and then realize it was really stupid to leave that wire the way it is.

So what is this and what do I do?

That's a third antenna wire for WiFi. Certain WiFi modules use 3x antenna instead of just 2x. Since your WiFi module only has 2x antenna inputs, the third was just left there disconnected from anything.

You should have noticed that the other 2 wires right next to it are attached to the WiFi card with the exact same type of plug.
