Hey guys, my current laptop is kind of dying, and I'm looking for a laptop in the $750 range.

I have one more year of college, and a desktop just isn't going to be feasible yet, so I'm looking for one of these.

Battery life is kind of important since I'll need to take my laptop places with me, but I'm not 100% which one will last longer. The G72 has an 8 cell, but the processor and gfx card are older and the screen is larger. Will it last longer than the G60?

For gaming, do you guys think the G60 would be better than the G72? I've looked them both up on notebookcheck, and it seems that the G72 has the better gfx card, but the difference doesn't appear to be that significant. On the other hand, the G60 has an i5 whiel the G72 is running the older p8700. What do you guys think?

Additionally, since I haven't seen either of these in real life, what do you guys think about appearance? I can't tell too much from the pictures, and any descriptions you guys have of the two laptops would be really helpful. Can anyone share their opinions on which one looks better?

I can get the G72 (REFURBISHED) for $655 total or the G60 for $720.

I'm really not interested dishing out $1k for the G73 (although it looks pretty solid), and I'm pretty much set on one of these.

    Asus - Factory-Refurbished Laptop with Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor - Black - G72GXRF-RBBX05

    Asus - Laptop with Intel® Core™ i5 Processor - Blue/Black - G60JX-RBBX05

    Thanks!
    - Always

only difrence is that one is refurbished

    the g60 has i5+hd 7200rpm

    the g72gx has 17 screen+ 6gb ram

In gfx card there almost alike.

In battery life in the g60 i think is better its last more

But there in more i dont really know I would go for the g60 model its more portable and its less heavy, if you want better display, better sound, more like a desktop replacment you can go for the g72gx.

BTW where do they sell you that g60jx model?

This is a month old thread. The G60JX is no longer listed on the Best Buy website as of last week.
