I've had the Jx for over 6 months and it's been awesome, but only recently I've had FPS problems.

I was at my dad's and suddenly I started getting 5 or so FPS in any game 30 minutes in and then it went away after 10 minutes, then back again shortly. I unplugged the charger and it stayed at normal FPS for a while. This has happened on many games many times.

I tried a different outlet, and I never got FPS problems. I come back home and out of the 3 or 4 outlets I've tried they all have the same problem.

    Any help?

Make sure your power management settings for AC power are set to maximum performance and check your nvidia settings. Try a different driver version. Try running on AC without the battery in.

When you unplug and run on battery power, powermizer clocks down your GPU, and the temps will drop. Make sure your fan isn't busted and that your temps aren't over 100C.

I have had the power management at the highest, not sure what you mean by Nvidia settings...

If you can let me know how to record temps that would be awesome.

Here is my temp while running BF2 at max settings. So far I haven't had FPS problems after taking out the battery. I'm going to play for another 30 minutes and check back

Ok, after checking out BC2 I got a massive performance hike... I mean MASSIVE!

I checked my temps right after I ended a game and they are a bit on the high end. I read that the 360m can get up to 115C with no problems, but I think 105 or whatever the picture says is a bit much.

    What do I do?

If this is normal it would be good to know, it turns out the FPS increase is slight, I was just a bit excited that my FPS wasn't going down to zero.

I've also noticed that after checking out some videos of the Jx on YouTube, a lot of the videos seem to have higher settings and get better FPS than me. Anyone know why?

106C is on the high end, you might want to check your fan and vent to make sure they're not dusty.

I think it is the fan, after doing some research I learned the GTS 360m (along with other cards) bottleneck themselves when the temps get really hot. After thinking the AC trick worked, it actually didn't and while playing CSS (a not intensive game) I was getting temps around 109C when I started to go to 5 FPS. I've come to the conclusion that because of that, and the fact on idle I'm at about 70-75C that the fan is broken.

I've decided that I'm going to call customer support tomorrow since I'm still in the warranty and get it fixed. Hopefully I'll be able to perform even better than before.

Yeah if you're in warranty, tell them to repaste it and replace the fan.

Ok, sounds good. You have to detail the problems on a piece of paper when you send it so I'll let them know to repaste it and replace the fan...
