    G60VX and fan speed - should I cut the pwm wire?

    I've seen that you can take the blue wire out of the attachment and have the fan stay at a constant sped (around 5400 rpm) no matter what the temperature for the laptop. Mine currently runs around 65c idle and 90-95c while under load. The fan only kicks in to bring down the temp at 90-95c, and this seems a bit hot for me.

    If I take out the wire, would it reduce the life span of my fan, or what it be alright?

    Sorry, misleading thread title. I know I can remove it without cutting it, I just want to know if there are bad effects as a result.

    Not really, as fans are designed to run at these speeds.

    you can try to blow the vents with compressed air and consider a good pasting job befor cutting wires also undervolting is another solution on your hand so GL with whatever you chose.
