Hey guys, i bought a used g60jx mainly to play swtor. The laptop is in great shape everything is working great. today i tried to play while on battery mode yet the the gpu would never clock past 2d clock settings. As soon as i plug the power supply it changes to 3d clocks. I use msi after burner and temps are fine, so its not a temperature issue, looked through the asus power managment setting and i cant find anything, updated the drivers and still the same. i cant find a good answer for this problem. hopefully someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

You have the option to set the various clocks on battery in the nVidia control panel, i think it's under the powermizer settings. However, i'll say this: gaming on battery is a bad idea and the fastest way to ruin a perfectly good battery. Gaming laptops were never meant to game on battery.

There isn't much control over battery clocks with nvidia powermizer. I'm not sure if there is a way to disable it in the driver control panel.

I know that gaming on battery is not going to result in long play times, i just wanted to know if there was a way to change it because the clock setting change from 550/1400/1800 to 405/810/324. DDR5 at 324 isnt getting me anything playable at any setting. I had a g51vx and the gtx 260 would down clock but it would still render graphics at an acceptable rate. I bought this laptop to replaced my g51vx because i spilled tea on the laptop and fried the mother board and graphics card.

It's not just a matter of draining the battery quickly, you'll greatly shortly reduce the lifespan of the battery by draining at that rate.
As for powermizer, can't you set it to maximum performance even on battery like ATI's powerplay?
