For starters, look at your temps, and then post them here. ;)

i used HW monitor for this tempratures , after the screen flickered and the gpu underclocked itself , i left the game to see the maximum tempratures my cpu/gpu reached

the MAX cpu tempratures was core #0 is 73C core #2 71C

the MAX gpu tempratures (overclocked 630/1800/1600) is 78C

lol maybe it's too much voltage (or heat) on a certain part of the card, causing a temporary problem...

Thats pretty high for CPU temps, the graphics temp is normal, it almost sounds like you're either pulling too much power and its throttling or too high of temps and its throttling.

When was the last time you cleaned out the radiator? ever repasted the CPU?

no dude , i play all the time with this temprature and it runs great , but i will say this again , this happens only when i overclock the gpu , and the gpu who underclock itself not the cpu :S

and i got the laptop for 1 month only !

Sounds like you're getting unintended behaviour when your card is running at unintended speeds.

Are you sure? have you watched the clock speeds on either? grab a program called "throttle stop" and also grab "GPU-Z" and watch whaat the clock either go down to or what happens in general

    best answer ever :notworthy:

Hello dear friend..I am an owner of G60JX myself and I have experienced the exact same problem and decided to know wat's going on exactly..and I kept checking and bugging til I found the solution....it oes like this..
the reason for this bug is the new driver!yes the new one!!u have installed the 260.99 right??so now u have to do the following:
    1.uninstall these drivers..I mean Display+PhysX+NvididaHD audio
    2.uninstall system tools..
3.reboot in safe mode and run DriverSweeper.
4.Clean all Nvidida related registry files and reboot..
5.Now comes the important part..download and install ONLY the VGA driver from the official ASUS G60JX page..that is v187.66..for alot of reasons do not use other drivers..OK
6.download and install Nvidia system tools version 6.03 only..it's the only one compatible with this driver I have found out and sure about i..
    7.reboot and check thingz out..
I'm overclocked right now to 660/1900/1550 and running great..check ur stability with Residet Evil 5 benchmark tool..It should reach 58 FPS and sometimes hits 60 as a final score...
also u can check the lost plane 2 benchmarking..test B gave me 37 FPS and graded B..what games do u play!?
and oh..one more thing ..DO NOT RUN EXTREME TURBO IN HIGH PERFORMANCE MODE IN POWER4GEAR HYBRID...it only makes thingz worse..and I checked my benchmarking and it drops it down..and as a proof they have removed this feature in v1.42 which I'm currently using and no issues at all..
    ENJOY......if u need anything else just say...PEACE

@omarfaieq007 thank you very very much for your help i really really appreciate it , and i will try it when i go home , and yes i am using the new drivers 260.99 and i always run it on EXTREME TURBO :D , but which one is better to overclock , 630/1800/1600 or your overclocking 660/1900/1550 ?

also can i use nvidia ntune ? or i HAVE TO USE NVIDIA TOOLS V 6.03 ?

AND ABOUT THE PHYSX , CAN I INSTALL THE NEW ONE , OR IT COMES WITH THAT DRIVER FROM THE ASUS WEBSITE ?

ONCE AGAIN , I REALLY WANNA THANK YOU , BUT I HOPE IT WILL WORK ,

BTW I PLAY BLACK OPS / BATTLEFIELD BAD COMPANY 2 / GTA EFLC/ BATMAN /L4D2/BLUR/MW2/WARCRAFT III (DOTA) .

HOPE IT WILL WORK , AND THANK YOU MILLION TIMES.

edit : if i cant use nvidia ntune , and i have to se nvidiatools v6.03 , can you give me a link for it ?

Hi man..it will work my man be sure and u r welcome anytime...
I think my OC is more efficient cuz I increase the memory clock which in turn increases the fill rate and bandwidth (check it in GPU-Z)..and puts less load on the GPU processor and eventually less heat and enforcement applied..
Ntune is the same as System tools just another name to it..u can download it here... http://http://www.nvidia.com/content/DriverDownload-March2009/confirmation.php?url=/Windows/nForce/system_tools/6.03/6.03_nvidia_system_tools.exe&lang=us&type=Other
Do not install physicx..it comes implemented in our card built in...no need to it and that's what makes this card great...
ur games are demanding ones I see,all u need is good cooling and increase ur RAMmaking sure it has 1066 freq. speed...

i guess it is 1033 but how can i make it 1066 , and is it safe to make it 1066 ?

and what you were trying to say is , i DONT NEED TO INSTALL PHYSX AT ALL ?

or install the one from the asus website ?

PS : the link yuo gave to me is not working .

ps2: the nvidia system tools 6.03 are only working with the nvidia 200 series , and windows vista ,

it doesnt support windows 7 and nvidia 300 series.

i just did exactly what you said , and after 1 minute , the screen flickerd and told me the driver 187.66 has stopped working and has been seccessfully recovered ....

what the heck is that ?

PS : i cant even see my video card listen in HW monitor program , to see the tempratures ...

COOL , now i cant even play black ops , i will go back to the newst drivers and the newst ntune .

thanks anyways for the advice .

LOL cant belive this , now i cant install or uninstall nvidia system tools , it give me windows explorer error ,

i guess you did that on purpose ? so you mess up my laptop ?

man I'm really surprised of wat u r sayin...Y would I do that??I did everything I told u on my laptop and tingz r fine....what the heck!
u said the link is not working how come?it's nvidia's official website..and 6.03 supports windows 7..otherwise it won't work..I'm sure u did something wrong..anyway wanted to help but disappointed u think like this..u can't overclock now whatsoever....
p.s:how come v187.66 not working??it's the original driver that came with asus..it was originally installed when first purhased and was working right?why not now??u missed something and I'm sure if u did it accurately u'll have a good result trust me..PEACE
