1.will it handle the core i7 processors i mentioned without any problem ?

2.if so , will i be able to upgrade the memory to 8gb ?

3.will i need a new thermal paste or it comes with the new processor ?

4.if i can upgrade it , the upgrading process is hard (can be made at home) or i have to send it to a store ?

5.will i need to cuz some stuff or buy additional stuff for my NEW CORE i7 Processor Like A new cooling system ?

GUYS I REALLY APPRECIATE YUOR ANSWERS , AND I REALLY WANT TO UPGRADE MY CPU AS SOON AS POSSIBLE .

You CAN upgrade the unit to a 720 / 740qm, but it's really not worth the headaches unless you're running AUTOCAD or rendering videos like crazy.

The cooling system isn't the greatest to begin with, and then to add a quad core and a 360m video card to the mix and you're asking for problems.

You'll need new thermal paste. I recommended not cheaping out on this! Be sure to buy some good thermal paste and be sure to read about the application of the product as well.

Yes you will be able to upgrade to 8gb of memory.

The upgrade process isn't very difficult for the G51 / G60 series. There are many forums that have the CPU / GPU upgrade process posted with pictures.

If your laptop still has a remainder of warranty and you don't feel comfortable working on things like that, then I recommend sending it somewhere, or having someone that you know do it for you. If you don't have any warranty, then have at it.

I would definitely buy a good cooling pad to place your laptop upon when using it for extended periods of time, and also when stressing the CPU / GPU

    Good luck

You'll want to avoid upping the power draw on a g60jx - look at the owners forum for all the headaches the i7 has caused.

You don't always need to buy thermal paste - some stores will include it in the processor purchase price. For the CPU, using generic thermal paste isn't big deal in the g60, because it shares a heatpipe with the GPU, and the GPU is crazy hot.

The upgrade isn't difficult - BUT ... if you can't find the caps lock key on your keyboard, I'm not sure looking for the CPU is a good idea :p

ok thank you all for the replys , but 1 more question , do you think upgrading my cpu to core i5 560m 2.66 ghz will be better , because the cpu i am currntly having is core i5 430m 2.27 and it is really slow and killing me when i am playing game like battle field and black ops :)

probably better off getting a refurbed G73JH. this way you upgrade the cpu, gpu and cooling system.

It's not the CPU that's slowing you down on blackops. It's the fact that blackops is buggy as heck.

430m to 560m will not help that much, I don't think you'll really notice a difference... the GPU is still be the main problem for such a demanding game.

It really improved since the last couple of patches imo... not nearly as bad as when it was released.

Same as a nvidia 260m. Check notebookcheck.net (their GPU comparison section) for a good list.

Here is the entry for the 360m. It looks like a mobility 4870m is about on par.

Every chip is different, you'll have to increase the frequencies step by step (small steps) and find a value that works stable.

come on , i need little help in here , how can i know the max overclock possible for this video card , because if i overclock the CORE SPEED TO 615+ when i play black ops the gpu will throttle down and underclock itself , but if i use 610 , it will be fine , but i am looking for more performance :/ is it possible ?

i am currently running it on 610/2000/1600

I told you every chip is different, so you can't just take the numbers from someone who got a nice overclock...

The GPU only has to work as fast as the official specs, everything else can be regarded as "bonus"... some chips may handle a quite big OC and others almost none.

When you say the GPU will throttle at 615+ then you may have reached the limit of your chip... or you're missing a setting on the OC tool you use to force the clock speed. (Usually you'll get a BSOD when pushing the card to hard, not throttling)

I can't really help you here as I don't have a lot of experience with ATI cards, sry.

it is not ati , it is nvidia gts 360m :/ , anyways , i never get a blue screen of death if i wrongly overclock my gpu , it just throttle down (underclock itself) and then i have to restart my laptop and everything will be fine again :)

i didnt get over 87C with the overclocking tho ...
