I need a guide or video or something that will show me how to repaste the g60vx graphics card or help me locate and take of the heat sink so that I can do it. Anyone have a useful link? I can't find stuff on the specific model.

anyone know? I don't want to touch the laptop until I know of any funky screw replacement orders or precautions I should take for the gpu replacement.

If there is no guide available can some at least point me to a diagram showing what the innards are as well as provide me some basic instructions/precautions. Someone in this forum has repasted a G60vx before right?

Just did a quick browsing through our disassembly guide repository and the G60 isn't there. You'll need an owner who took pics, but as it is a rather old model, it might take some time to get the pics if you do get some.

Well its not that old just 2-3 years. Do people really get rid of laptops that quickly? I'm trying to get rid of the TDRs ie ("Display Driver Nvidia Windows Kernel Mode Driver Version XXX.XX stopped responding and has recovered) or nvlddmkm.sys has stopped responding and recovered that are plaguing this machine.

Repasting is the only thing I can think of. If someone has a working way to fix the TDRs that will do instead.

alright I guess I'll have to live with the fact that I apparently have the only malfunctioning specimen of such a wonderful computer nobody in the history of owning it has never had to learn where the gfx card is or even needed a diagram showing where all the parts are. :)

Lol.theres a.youtube video of it...believe me the g50/51/60 get hot and need repasting.you might have to look for video for a g51. Oh and look for a big piece if copper thats where the cpu gpu are no need for a diagram

Well because nvidia are notorouisly hot it couldve burnt out the components.......its posible it needs a new graphics card...it is replaceable. But before you do that check out your operating system or reinstall win7

It's simple, you'll just have to remove all the screws you see that sit down the heat pipe and heat sink. You'll remove the heat pipe that is attached to the fan first, lifting the black tape securing the fan first. Then you lift up the other pipe that is attached to the GPU heat sink.
