Im an amateur when it comes to RAID and would like to know some things before making any changes.

Firstly I currently use all 4 partitions of both my hard drives if changing them to raid will this wipe any of the data I currently have when it creates the one hard drive setup?

Secondly if im looking at performance and not security what difference in speed would I see from my slow boys 5400RPM HDD's.

Thirdly is it as simple as turning RAID on in the BIOS and using Intel Matrix to control this from? or do i need to actually tune this myself using the RAID controller.

Could do with someone who knows their stuff to explain this to me please.
