When you type keyboard makes double letters with a single stoke. I have research forums on asus.com and many users have the same problem. Some says upgrading window7 solved their problems, some says (including me) still have the problem. Any of you know the solution to this double typing issue?
    Thanks

If your machine has em try removing the synaptics drivers. I did this for my keyboard missing keystrokes and it worked like a charm. Dunno if it applies to you, but if it does it might be worth trying out.

I have the SAME EXACT PROBLEM. It is happening to my G72GX-RBBX05 (from Best Buy). When I type (doesn't matter which key), it would randomly double type that letter or symbol. Already updated to the latest BIOS directly from ASUS's website.

Does anyone have a solution to this?

I would also suggest giving the removal of Synaptics drivers a try. A while back, there were widespread missing keystrokes problems on ASUS notebooks and that always fixed it.

Thanks, I'll try that. Perhaps it's a good idea cuz I remember upgrading the Synaptics drivers to include gestures and some other fancy stuff you can do with your touchpad. Hope this works.

I tried removing the Synaptic software/drivers, update to the latest BIOS, and updated to the latest version of the ATK software but it did not resolve the double keystroke issue that occurs randomly every 2-3 minutes.

I went as far as exchanging the G72GX at Best Buy for another new unit and even this new one that I am using is having the double keystroke issue.

I am very frustrated that ASUS is allowing this problem to continue. I have read that even the G71GX had this issue.

Is there anyway to to resolve this? I am out of ideas.

Okay, sorry to spend my first post bringing up a dead topic, but my girlfriend is having a similar issue and I can't figure it out. Not only does it double stroke, it also inserts dashes all over the place as well as strike throughs. Were any of you able to figure this issue out?

Wow, I thought this thread is dead. Yeah, there is NO SOLUTION and ASUS REFUSE TO ACKNOWLEDGE that it is a problem.

I have replaced the keyboard but it does not resolve the issue.

Look at this post, as it can help reduce the amount of double keystroke that occurs during typing: http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=55686

Although this is for the eee netbook and is a modification in Windows, rather than hardware level, this should help a bit...it did for me.
