This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     G72 Keeps blacking out and then lags.

    My G72GX RBBX05 from walmart randomly goes into a black screen while playing games like OF :DR or even Oblivion. The game freezes for ~4 seconds, the screen goes black for ~1 sec, then the game starts to lag alot.
    I have the WHQL or whatever 257.1 which is the latest driver I think and I have 8.17 or something on the Nvidia control center.
