Sorry to post this here as well, just didnt seem to get a response in the ASUS main page.
I just got one of the G72 refurb units form newegg. First off the machine is immaculate. Not a scratch or fingerprint anywhere. Still has nice plastic wrappings around the screen and such.
Anyways, The charger that it came with was a dud. I grabbed on from bestbuy, a 90W, thinking that it would last until my new one came in. It charges it while its off which I'm not sure if its okay?
But my main concern is that I went to plug in the charger while it was on, I may have herd a slight flicker and the screen when black. The computer was still on and running but no screen. I held down power, computer rebooted all fine and dandy.
Could this have done any harm to my machine?

Has anyone actually seen this happen before?

I'm not sure what the power rating requirements are on the G72, but I am thinking your power brick is too light for the load of the gaming rig. You probably want something 120w or better.

I don't know how many times I've linked this item here.$30 for a nice 180w brick.

Thanks Chastity, I've read through alot of your threads and have been quite a bit of help.
Its not the charger im concered about. But that looks like a sweet deal. I ordered one last week that should be here shortly, its what the underpowered charger did to my laptop. It wasn't the first time I plugged it in but that time it made the screen die. Im just curious of the whyand how. What would make this happen?
