Is the wireless adaptor showing up in Device Manager ok?

Does the wireless light on the front of the laptop come on.. try pressing Fn + F2, to turn the wireless on/off.

What has worked for me on my G72 when the wireless refuses to come on is to go in to the control, open network and sharing center, click on change adapter settings, right click wireless network connection, click on disable, count to twenty and then re-enable the connection. Make sure the switch on the side is on and you may have to hit Fn+F2.

Do you have the wireless icon in the system tray though?

And I would also check that the Wireless Services are running.
