Im on bios 211.
Anyone saw that when we are on battery, cpu speed is very inconsistent.
Easy to test with prime. on 8 core test. it will jump from 933 to 1733mhz.
PLug-in it will be always 1600mhz.
I first notice this when using pcsx2 (ps2 emulator). when the speed of the cpu drop, games are unplayable.
Not all application / gamesare affected by this.
Prime on 1 core is not affected.
But furmark is affected. Furmark stress 1 core a lot. and plug-in cpu is +-2.66
On battery, it will dance from 2.66 to 933. even staying at 933 sometimes.
Please Advice on this issue? Am I alone with this?

When you are on battery, the power plan will use the C states to conserve energy usage and downclock the cpu. You should be able to disable this by using the High Performance profile.
-
Check in P4G your cpu state. depending on the profile, some has 80% as maximum state. Move the slide to 100%. If you need always the cpu at top state, move both the minimum and maximum slide states to 100%.... keep in mind your battery will drain faster.

Battery Mode automatically downclocks and throttles high power parts like the GPU & CPU unless you manually disable those protections.

Im currently on High performance power plan. I don't use power 4 gear from Asus.
Any suggestion for not having this weird throttle down on battery while cpu is in the need?
If I recall, my bro mobile I7 doesn't do that on battery.
Its normal when unused that the cpu go to deeper state on battery but from what I remember, not we there is actually a program asking for cpu juice.
Also im on win 7 sp1 beta. this may have some effect too. -
I did some tests and on battery, running the cpu and GPU at full, will get you no more then about 18 min of battery life. Just FYI.

Gaming laptops, or 'Desktop replacements' are not really meant to be run on battery power for an extended period of time. I've owned DTR's for about 6 years now, and wouldn't have it any other way.
I can take my machine anywhere I want to use it. Instead of owning a Desktop, and a laptop to do what I need, I have a single machine, one that can do and run anything I can throw at it.
However, I cannot see a 'poor' person purchasing a high end gaming laptop over a much less expensive desktop. You can get a very capable desktop, in a very small package, for pretty much the fraction of the price of a laptop. Desktops are much more capable, and upgradeable over the long term.
Everyone has reasons. And calling people 'retards' because you do not understand their point of view, well, perhaps you should go elsewhere. -
I think the point he was trying to make is that by buying a desktop replacement laptop, you can eliminate buying several pieces of hardware:
1) a desktop PC setup
2) a gaming console
3) a blu-ray player
add an external USB TV device, and you can also replace a TV and DVR.
Use a magicjack, and you have phone service. -
Wow. Glad that dude got banned. No im not poor. I make good money as a game dev and game on a duel hex core xeon with 24gb of ram a 4gb video card and 2x 32 inch apple cinema displays. I also have every console hooked up to a 73inch TV. You know what the amazing thing is about the G73?? I CAN TAKE IT PLACES!!! Im never on battery. You just made yourself look really stupid.
**and not to be an a$$ or anything but if your poor, gaming is the LAST thing you should be doing. I know this from first hand experience. There is a time to study and work hard and a time to game. If you just game, you end up with a little apartment and a single G73 that you complain about

loool
I'm not poor neither
hehe
