    Whats happening with my SSD?

It used to show 7.4 before i did a complete fresh installation. Now it shows 5.9 in WEI.

I know i am missing some driver but dont know what.
I have already searched the forum and did the registry tweaks but no use.

I also removed the second drive and did a check .same result.

    Can someone help me.

The drive may be misaligned, though if you're using Win 7, that should not be the case.

You are refreshing the score right? It it will just sit at a guessed score until you actually tell it to test again.

Intel Rapid Storage Storage Technology Driver is what you're looking for

you did not state which drive you own. If it is an older off brand you simply need to do a complete full format (not quick format). This is an old issue related to trim software that was never fixed despite various experts saying that it was fixed. The drive "breaks down" on a soft level after a while. This is why i like intel drives. They never had such trim issues. One can argue for sandforce based drives which dont require trim but they have their own problems. This can also be simply caused if you got a cheap ssd drive. stick to the major brands (intel, micron). Other brands do work and seemingly have a loyal following but intel and micron lead the way in nand innovation

    Intel SSDSA2MP040G2R5 X25-V Solid State Drive - 40GB, SATA, 2.5", Retail

this is the drive i got a year back.

My point was before i did a clean fresh install it DID show a score of 7.4.

After the fresh install it droped back to 5.9. i guess it has something to do with a missing driver . dont know what .

But as said i will do a complete format instead of a quick format and try again.

Any other help in the meanwhile would be highly appreciated.

You could try running a manual TRIM using Intel's utility, otherwise reformat properly and start over.

    finally fixed it.

    Did a clean install .
installed the intel stuff form the asus disc
downloaded intel rapid store tech (12mb file).

then windows 7 recognized my drive as SSD( notification icon)

WEI score jumped from 5.9 to 7.6 . Pretty much happy now.
Didnt even need to tweak the registrys
