Ok been perusing the forums for a while waiting in anticipation for my G73 (a2) to arrive. It just shipped out and will be arriving soon. Wondering what i should do with it when i first get it.

So far I have gathered: Remove Bloatware
    Uninstall Creative Drivers....

Any other suggestions would be appreciated. thanks

Install Borderlands, run it on MAX settings. Change your pants shortly after.

OH. Install the official synaptic drivers, not the asus ones. I didn't get proper 2 finger scrolling until I did this.

Do you mean pitch zoom? You only need one finger to scroll.

First thing I'd do is to register your notebook with Asus to activate your 1 year accidental warranty :)

Then install flash 10.1 Beta (enables hardware acceleration), watch a few HD videos from youtube or hulu, get steam, play some games, and have fun!

Try to install catalyst 10.4 drivers and play some games to ensure you haven't any GSOD issues.

No, I mean two finger scrolling. Such as I posted.

If you don't mind me asking, why are two fingers needed to scroll when only one is required?

It's sometimes easier to swipe 2 fingers down on the pad, rather than needing to try and hit the corner. Since I'd usually rest my whole hand on the pad pretty much, 2 fingers is always available to use.

It sounds weird, I didnt think it was worth it either. Then you actually use it, and even though I've been used to swiping one finger on the right-side to scroll since my very first laptop. I got used to 2 finger scrolling in like 2min, and love doing it that way more.

Yeah, it does sound a little weird. I just move my finger to the edge and as soon as the mouse changes to a swirl, I draw a circle with my finger to scroll.

    Thanks for the explanation.

Is this it? uninstall original synaptic, then install this?

No issues, pretty much I would not consider them unofficial, more so just updated drivers.

Either way, thats the correct place/driver, so your good to go. It adds what should have been there, IMO, pinch zoom is worthless though(it kept doing it to me when i wasnt trying and it felt really inaccurate at times). So when I updated it was for the 2 finger scrolling support, and didnt run into any problems along with no probs been reported.
