My friend updated his G73JH from 209 to 211, and after updates the keyboard stopped working. Now when he boots into windows, everything is fine until he touches the keyboard, as soon as he does that, the laptop freezes and he has to restart

    Any ideas?

Thats just odd. Did he flash via usb or windows? Usb is reported to be the most stable and easy method. Also, has he tried reflashing or maybe reverting to 209, or going all the way to 213? Did he get the bios file info through this site? I ask this cuz last week I went from 2.09 to 2.13 following the tutorials and file info here, and had no issue. Might as well start from ground zero and redownload the bios files, reflash via usb, and see if that helps. That's all i can think of.

Pat if they use an external KB does the same problem happen?
First I would reset the BIOS to all defaults (assuming F2 allows access to BIOS). Or maybe flash back to 209, I have yet to read an issue like that and have been following threads for 1.5 years.

Makes sense, 213 was the bios fix for the keyboard dropping keystrokes. Make sure he is on the newest ATK also, chastity's driver ref is a good place to start.

ya but i doubt 213 fixed the actual problem, i think it just overwrote it, because there are no known issues with 211 disabling keyboard. In any case, it worked! thanks for your replies
