    Hi,

i have a big problem with my g73 fhd+ lcd display. since ~ 3 weeks it looks like this:

i didnt transport the notebook or even close the display. it just happened from one day to the other ...

i sent the notebook back with my rma nr and now the technical support told me that this is my fault (mechanical damage) and i have to pay the repair/change of the lcd. > not covered by my existing warranty !

so, did any1 of you had the same problem, knows how this "display crash" happens or maybe if it is covered by warranty ?

    thanks a lot !

Looks like a PSOD. You'll have to call Asus and RMA it.

Well, if you do some googling, you'll come up with a variety of reasons "WHY", but I don't know for sure.

a PSOD is covered by warranty.

But it looks quite different from what you have there... it looks like you've got a broken screen, from impact. You could always try reseating the cable that connects the screen to the motherboard ... but it looks QUITE different from a Psychadelic screen of death. Probably because you have a white desktop.

Notice the colors on the Intel widget on the top right of his screen. Looks psychadellic to me. :p
All the signs point to a PSOD. Note that he also said that he hasn't transported or damaged the notebook himself.
It is covered under warranty, just call Asus and tell them that your G73 had a PSOD (psychadellic screen of death) and set up a RMA.

Yeah, that's a PSOD. No problem with RMA for it.

I believe the fix is an LCD replacement.

i did some researches for the psod's. there are so much different meanings about that, crazy. my actual problem, i rma'd it, got a new display, the supporter of asus says it is my fault (mechanical damage) and i have to pay for it. the new display looks sick, a lot of "ants" in the grey areas of the background, maybe a problem with the new bios they installed.

!!! and when i connect my extern tft display via the hdmi port, i get the same psod screen again but only for ~ a second ...
