    so i ran a smart test and it says my hdds health is at 56%

    Raw read error rate is at 56% and seek error rate is 67% but it says tottal health 56% should i be worried?

    Hmm that's really odd what software are you using to check ur HDD?

    active hard drive monitor, its went down to 52% now, im worried, i am planning to buy a new hdd just in case,

    I wouldn't trust info from just one application. I assume you are using an app that is checking SMART info?

    yeah i checked HDD tune which gives off the same info, 57% health,

    If it's a Seagate drive then perhaps run SeaTools on it.

    Since manufacturers are free to use S.M.A.R.T. data any way they please (without documenting it), it's difficult to interpret the data with 3rd party apps.

    Yes if it is Seagate try Seatools, but maybe also back up your data in case something is really wrong with it.

    I once had an issue like this on WD drive on older PC. On one reboot the HDD did a funny sound and the system showed BSOD.
    I made backup of my data and after two three days the HDD was not accessible at all. In my case it was hardware failure, because HDD did not rotate afterwards.
    I was feeling really bad to RMA a drive full of my personal data. :(
