So my secondary drive has been acting up again, so I decided to check it with SeaTools, since it is a SeaGate drive and the manufacturer's diagnostic tool is the best way to tell if a drive has failed. So I loaded it up, ran a SMART test on the problematic drive and bam - SMART test failed. I got a test code for RMA, but it said to make sure I try running SeaTools for DOS to see if I can try repairing the bad sectors. So I boot up to SeaTools for DOS and try to run a repair, I think it counted 36 bad sectors and....it failed repair on every single one. So, I get to RMA. I got a code I will use for the RMA, so I'm good there, my only questions are logistically speaking. I have personally sensitive information on the drive, so I will be wiping it with Eraser, and reformatting to RAW with EASEUS. I'm not sure exactly how to take out the physical drive, but if I remember correctly that is shown on BTOTech's video, so I will look at it again. Is there anything else that I'm missing that I need to know or need to do? Thanks.

Edit: I'm curious to know if anyone else has gotten a faulty hard drive? I've seen G73 RMA's for all sorts of things, GPU, mobo, screen, but I've never seen one for hard drive failure. Am I the only one?

Taking out the drive is easy, no guide required. Remove the bottom panel, it's logically set up inside to remove the drives as well.

Ok, and with the exhaust ports pointing up, is the secondary drive on the left, or right? If I remember correctly, it's the one on the right.

If you need some pointers, check out the G73 disassembly guide by BTO tech in Youtube.

The BTOTech video on YouTube does not say which drive is which. Anyone know?

Edit: Just gonna look for the serial number.

The one in the center is primary or port 0.
The one on the outside is the secondary.
