What bloatware do i need to get rid of? What do i need to do to get it running good? what updates, drivers, etc do i need? I got a CD full of drivers from Asus, is this adequate?

How do you know what Bios your running, and what the latest is?

The easiest thing to do is to open up the Control Panel, and go to "Uninstall a Program" From here you will see a large list of stuff, and you can uninstall anything you will not need. The first thing I suggest uninstalling is the Asus Auto Updater. It's been known to be evil incarnate.

You can also hit the forum sticky and find the link for the bloatware guide.

You will also find my Driver and Application Reference for updated downloads.

if you choose to update the BIOS do not do it with winflash (some have used it and bricked their machines) To find the lastest BIOS go here: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support-
In general download fill in Notebook - G73 - Series and G73JW

    The latest one is 203.

To enter the bios tap only the F2 key a few times after powering on the laptop so you can verify what version you are on. If you need to upgrade the BIOS it can be done from within the BIOS.
Personally I would only update the BIOS if there is a known issue that the update will fix.

Best of luck with your machine

Not at all, when I see a new owner I normally wish them good luck! In fact it seems to me that the original JH series had a few issues (as mine did) but the new models such as yours have had less problems. Plus with the many dedicated people in this forum virtually all problems have been or are being addressed.

Should i get rid of P4G?

Hearing a lot of mixed things about that.

Also, where's a list of drivers? I have found a list of bloatware, and problems etc.

Would all the drivers i need be on the Asus website?

Drivers would come preinstalled I imagine, with updates available from your model's page on the Asus website.

Could you provide the link to the list of bloatware you found? It's just helpful for other forum members and internet browsers who stumble across the topic, like myself ^_^
