I am now 1 of the many "to-be" owners of the G73. I have been reading till my eyes blurrr on anything & everything in regard to the G73. The one thing that I need clarification on is the Memory. I know it comes with DDR3 1066/1333 but what I can't seem to find is does the BIOS offer any option to play with the timings/voltage of the RAM and is it locked to 1333 (667) max?

Mods-If this is already posted please just delete this post. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

There are no options to modify the RAM timings or clocks in any way as far as I know. If you disassemble the unit and put in an i7/9XX series processor, the BIOS automatically opens up a bunch of options, but they are not present in the stock configuration.

I did not see anything with regards to memory timings or options to change in the BIOS. I had a Dell 1730 that allowed CPU overclocking but other than that I've never seen one that allowed overclocking or working with memory timings.

*dang it, got on phone call, was too slow on my response*

I wish someone could hack the BIOS to open with more options as if there was a i7-9xx installed. Not looking to drop another $1k for OC options.

it could be possible but u need to be able to do a full BIOS dump and have someone skillfull enough to hack it ... so far no luck with Asus G73 and Alienware M17x...
