Hey guys, just thought some of you could benefit from this, I have not experienced any of the issues lots of people seem to be talking about with GSOD's and the like (I'm running the latest ATI drivers, stock whatever version bios came with the G73JG-RBBX05 ID:A1 and not one of the games in my steam list have hard locked my laptop... and I have a lot of games in that list, including crysis and gta4 which both abuse gaming rigs :D

Anyway, the issue I had was that even doing nothing at all, the CPU fan was audible, not wind noise or vibrations, but like a really soft ticking noise that tickled your ear at just enough volume to induce maximum rage :(

So I peeled my machine open (The un-necessary double sided sticky tape is painful, be very careful removing it, and then throw it in the bin, the keyboard has plenty of clips holding it in at the top and the bottom... I have no idea why they used sticky tape except to make it difficult?) then I lifted out the cpu fan, took off the cover (1 screw and some metal tabs to ease off) and put some Castrol Handy Oil into the spindle of the CPU fan and BAM now it's sweet as :D

Just thought I would share for anyone who had this issue

AS a side note, not sure if it needs it's own topic, mods feel free to move this etc, I hope I'm not stepping on anyone's toes.
