Hi guys,
Anyone using Notebook cooler for G73? And what will be the recommended Notebook Cooler for G73?
-
Yup. I'm using Zalman NC2000 though many users out there who said that this notebook does not need a notebook cooler.
-
Really speaking u don't need one... if u want one , the best is thermaltake massive 23.. cools the G73 quite a lot compared to other coolers.

and another "if you had only bothered to search you'd get your answer" thread....

although my first post in that thread kind of contradicts me.... *cough* MOVE ALONG!!! NOTHING TO SEE HERE -
IMO, the ventilation system of the g73 is incredible. Play for hours with the laptop in my laps and it just fell warm, never hot. After gaming, the temp decrease really fast. You don't need a cooling system actually.

This one is great. It definitely helps, especially if you are in a hot region of the world. I am very happy with it and it fits perfectly.

and doesn't the G73 suck air down through the keyboard? so a cooling pad isn't really going to do anything.
-
It doesn't suck air through the keyboard...a common misconception. It sucks it in through gaps behind where you see the blue light on the screen. There is no physical way to suck air in through the keyboard due to the nice metal shielding it has on the back for the backlight,

I have a Zalman NC-2000 under mine, but i never have it turned on (doesnt really help anyway), its just to lift the laptop off the table and tilt the keyboard for easyer typing when im using it on my desk.
And the laptop actually has 2 holes for the fan under each side of the screen - on the side of the blue light under the screen, but its also sucking air in from the usb ports (if i hold my hand there i can feel the air being sucked in a bit) and from the holes on the bottom cover, so the advertisment about it sucking air in from the keyboard and the front is complete bogus. -
This is good news to me since I always wondered how it would be a good idea to suck air through the keyboard where all sorts of grime and crap would fall. Not sure how good it would be to have all that stuff suck into the cooling system. Yuck.
You ever taken your few year old desktop keyboard and flipped it over? -
-
This wont change temps very much then? I was think of building a custom rig to do this.
-
Has anyone used a cooler and taken they bottom plate off? That may help quite a bit if you never go mobile with it as it exposes quite a few sinks as well as the RAM (which I've noticed gets hot as hell when messing with it)
-
Thanks for the respond spoilt for choices now.....
-
Yeah, just glue it to your favorite lap cooler
-
I picked up two Targus's that may be in the link above a few posts. It is a little smaller than the G73 width but has dual fans underneath top part of it and, albeit short, usb cable which reachs either port on the left side of my unit. I have my wireless USB mouse on the right rear port atm.

yeah just got an email from them....they don't deliver here T_T -
There's a good cooling solution available in the form of heatshift pads. I've checked one out for a mac and it does seem promising. Above and all it's the silence of the system coupled with it's ability to be folded along with my laptop that sold me.
