    Hello all.

I am planning on selling my G73, for the reason of switching over to a gaming desktop solution. I want to make sure that the G73 is ready to go when the customer receives it, as if they purchased it new/refurbed. Recovery discs did not come with my G73, and I had forgot to make the discs on initial boot-up. I basically, formatted everything to a fresh install of Windows 7 the first chance I got. I used the AI Recovery Burner file that Chastity linked, to create some recovery discs, but I'm wondering if those are for recovering back to its factory state.

When you reformatted, did you delete the 20GB partition at the beginning of the drive? If not, you can hit F9 at boot and run the Recovery app to bring the unit to a factory state.

If not, you will need the Recovery DVD disc. (Those Recovery discs you burned still require the Recovery partition) BTW, which G73 do you have?

I may have deleted the 20GB partition; my own stupidity. Anyways, I attempted to do the F9 method to bring up the Recovery app. It did a few things, and then restarted my computer putting me in corrupted boot loop. Fortunately I had a Windows 7 Installation disc sitting around to repair that. Phew!

I've got the G73JH. I guess I'll use the Windows 7 format instead of the recovery format, and just install all of the drivers and such for the potential buyer. I'll also give them a copy of the Windows 7 installation disc, with instructions from this website for any future cases of restoring. Not really looking to purchase a set of recovery discs from Asus. :S

That will work too, I tend to delete the recovery partition right away, so I'll end up doing the same if/when I end up selling my SW.(I hate the default asus windows install, so i feel recovery partition is worthless once i know i'm keeping the laptop.)
