What I did, before I sold my G73, is I got 3M tape from my local hardware store. The one that is supposed to withstand summer heat and cold winters. I put 2 pieces on the back of the hard drive. Lined it up with the connector, connected it and pressed gently on the hard drive to make sure it stayed. I shook it around to make sure it would stay in place and it held on pretty well. You can also make a custom bracket by getting pieces of sheet metal and cutting appropriately with a dremmel. :D

I just stuck a piece of cardboard in mine. The pressure once the plastic over is put in place was enough to hold it.

Maybe because I'm tired, but it's so uncomplicated I found that funny. It's like, I took my shoe off and stuck part of my sock in there. :)

That would work as long as it's a thicker sock. :)

I suppose velcro would not hold very well. However, if it was the thicker stuff it would be sorta like the cardboard but at least it would not tend to slide out as much, plus it's removable.

I don't remove my drives that often but I would hate the double sided tape thing.

I have used foam in the past on several Asus laptops... just cut some strips of the sticky backed foam tape, and make it a nest and it'll snuggle just fine.

Blu-tac or other similar reusable adhesive putty works well too.
