Hey Guys,
pls help me out with:
whene I play videos with my G73JH (VLC or Media Player Classic with only ffdshow installed) the sound randomly stops briefly for one sec.! The videos runs perfectly without any problems and the sound afterwards is also running fine an synchronously again.
pls have anyone any ideas on this special problem?
my config is:
newest mobility driver + newest realtek driver + vlc/mediaplayer classic + ffdshow. but i also tried 2-3 older versions of any driver....
did i forget anything you want to know to solve the problem...just contact me!
thx in advance...

if you are using MPC HC, there's really no reason to use anything else, including ffdshow. Avoids situations like this.
-
Open MPC-HC and tell me what is listed in the menu: Play-> Filters. If MPC Decoder is loaded, is "Playing[DXVA]" displayed in the status bar?
Also, if you're using the standalone one, the latest stable build, MPC-HC v1.5.0.2827 was just released.

Most importantly, are all videos affected, or only some? -
at first sry....the whole last week i was away for my work, and I forgot to set the email notification for my thread
....so, many thx for the replys!!!
last evevenings....I installed a new sytem, WIN7 64Bit, latest allaso, and I only use the newest VLC or the MPH HC 64Bit + ffdshow.
more or less all videos are affected, but something changed whene I use the old 10.12 ATI driver some stuff runs in vlc nearly OK and some in MPH HC. Weird for me. i think VLC uses their own integrated codecs! Or? I think it is a a problem with the ATI BIOS I installed in the past to solve the GSOD vertical lines prob and the combi with the newest drivers..?
@namaiki: when i play the affected files with MPH HC this is listed: "Playing[DXVA]".
Is there maybe a new BIOS for the 5870 mobility? Can i use a special driver, or options i can adjust at the codec?
thx in advace

I would recommend you disable DXVA and use an efficient codec to decode video on CPU.
The easiest way to do this is probably to install CCCP and use the MPC-HC that is bundled and installed with CCCP. Basically, in this way FFDShow will actually be used and not DXVA. (unless you happen to be using the FFDShow DXVA Video decoder which will probably give you the same issue)
Otherwise, make sure that FFDShow is actually being used and not MPC-HC's internal codecs. -
If you're on windows 7, it's because 7 comes with it's own codecs for such things - no need for a codec "pack" or ffdshow or anything. It gives priority to the built-in codecs, so you have to manually remove them if you want to use others.
-
Besides, FFDShow's H.264 decoder is faster than the one bundled with Windows. -
i agree, normally, whene i dont have such ... probs, my expierience is ffdshow is fast and on a big screen with a H.264 1080p movie it looks just a little bit better. maybe i am wrong, and i see something that isnt there, but thats my impression....but it will this evevening try without ffdshow and wmp...codec packs i also dont like.....

solved it with this driver: ATI HDMI Audio Device R2.55 2010/12/3
what a .... there is a extra hdmi audio driver. i installed it above or more as an add on to the latest realtek driver 2.57.
the website i found it:
Realtek
maybe you have to agree first to enter the page....
