Hey all,
I am going to college this fall (in like 10 days actually) and wanted to bring my xbox 360, but I don't have an extra tv to plug it in to. Does the G73 have some sort of video input setting, either VGA or HDMI or whatever, that would allow me to play my 360 using my laptop display as a screen?

Unfortunately laptop video ports only send signals out. You'll have to invest in a TV if you want to use your XBOX 360.

Well Damn.

Somewhat off topic, but the Sager NP8120 had a pretty nifty feature. It was discontinued last week, but it is the only laptop I know of that actually has a direct video input that bypasses the guts of the laptop and sends the signal directly to the monitor! You could plug your 360 or PS3 right into the LCD monitor in other words through the HDMI input.
Why more laptop manufacturers don't do this is so baffling I cannot tell you. Because a laptop screen, when you get right down to it, is just an LCD monitor like any other, only portable. The truth is, I am very sure that it is something anyone with even a rudimentary knowledge of electronics could rig up if he was willing to create the connector in his lappy, but that would certainly void the warranty. It would honestly be easy enough for the manufacturer to add, particularly to these high end gaming rigs.
G73 Video Input?
