    Hi :hi2:

I've done my research and searched Google dry, I am trying to configure my G73 (BIOS v213) to remotely wake on lan connectivity.

    Within device manger:

I have updated my NIC and set it to 'Allow this device to wake PC'

I have set the Wake Up Capabilities to 'Magic Packet' within the Advanced tab of the NIC

But the laptop does not wake when trying to wake it via Splashtop.

I have read about a BIOS setting, but I am now convinced this model's BIOS does not handle it.

Does anyone know of another way (even via 3rd party software) to do this?

    All help much appreciated.

I have a G73JH-A1 and I had it working. So it can be done.

I don't have the G73 with me, but when I get home I'll check out whether it still works and which settings I have.

    Thanks very much, appreciated.

(You are the reason I have gotten this far, based off your threads on the ROG forums :) )

OK, so it still works, I woke it from an "off" state.

My win7 is in French so my descriptions will be approximative.

There are three settings in windows, all basically in the same place.

Go to the network centre, pick "modify card settings" on the left hand list.
On the connections window that opens up, right click on the ethernet cable connection and pick properties, you get a window listing the card in a small cell on top. Below there is a button: "settings" (or "configure"), click.
Go to the advanced tab, (remember I'm translating from French... so the english names are aproximative)

    1) "wake up functionality" set to "Magic Packet and PatternMatch"
    2) "wake up from off" set o "Enable"

    3) go to the "power settings" tab. Click on all 3 checkboxes ( authorise computer to turn off this device, authorise this device to wake from sleep, authorise only the magic packet to wake the computer from sleep)

As for the BIOS, Im not sure there are any settings. Perhaps only the one under "boot" which says enable PXE (thought it shouldn't be related).

Really appreciate the help on this.

I've followed your steps here, but cannot find this anywhere on the Advanced tab when right clicking on the ethernet card within Network Sharing:

    2) "wake up from off" set to "Enable"

Unless I am missing something? I think this is the missing link for me.

Thanks tijo, I've sorted step 3 out.

It's step 2 I'm having trouble with finding...

You are right kingrich10, what tijo showed is step 3
Step 2 is here (in french), in the same place as step one

    net parameters wolan.png

Even in french it doesn't make full sense... something like "exit standby/sleep from stop" I understand it to mean "wake from off state"

Thanks jeprira, but this is all I see in my ethernet advance options. Which is odd seeing as they are the same cards (I have updated it to the latest version too).

KingGrich10 could this be the setting?
The driver I am using is 1.0.0.14 and I have all the other settings mentioned above

If you compare the screenshot I attached, as I just did, it seems that for some unexplained reason I am missing this crucial option for the exact same card/version.

The plot thickens...I suppose I will have try and update or dig around the web to find out why I am missing this option, and then try and get it.

Thanks all for your help on this; +reps added
