I was wondering if a 1TB 2.5' hard drive would fit in my G73JH, i see a lot of people saying that it doesnt fit in their laptop because the drive is slightly thicker than regular hdds, does anybody know if these 1TB drives would fit?
If you look on newegg, there are a couple for sell, i want the WD one

If I remember right, one of the resellers here stated that they do NOT fit.

Looking at my G73JH's drive bays, it doesn't look like there's space to spare :)

Not sure but the new Seagate 750GB 7200 is 9.5mm and is the largest 7200 available.

    Cheers,

    Hello,

The Issue is the Height of the Drive (thickness) - Standard 2.5 Drivers are 9.5mm Height - See the Seagate Properties for most of the 500GB Drivers installed in the G73JH - ST9500420AS Momentus 7200.4 SATA 3Gb/s 500-GB Hard Drive | Seagate -

As far as I can tell the 1+ Terabyte Drivers are slightly thicker - 12.5mm - Which is why most of these drives are sold with fireware/USB enclosures.

    In Peace and Agape,
    Trav...

I have the WD Scorpio 1TB and it does not fit. You can however install it in the Optical drive bay using Newmodeus drive caddy for hdd.
