Ok, so I've been reading through various threads and found this issue posted many times, occasionally with replies. Thought a thread for it would be nice for people to find the answer easier in search.
The answer always given is that this is chinese input.
Now, I'm not sure why chinese input would already be installed on an English W7, but my computers have it since I live in Taiwan. (Still waiting on my A2 from the States).
Solutions:
#1. Uninstall it. It should be in language options somewhere. Not sure as I've not used English Win in years - can someone confirm, please?
#2. CTRL SPACE - this switches between 'foreign' and 'english' input methods.
#3. CTRL SHIFT - this cycles between various input methods installed. (aka Chinese, Japanese etc. etc.)
When playing games, you have to be careful about hitting those combos - so for heavy gaming, if you don't need Chinese input in your computers, just uninstall it.
