Hey guys,
I'm curious; to those of you who have received your G73's, where was it made? I'd like to know whether they've outsourced most of their facilities.

I just checked the box. It's made in China.

The only place I've seen any laptops come out of is China. So my question would be, "if there is any, who's making laptops other than China?" I realise why companies like Origin just take a Clevo and slap their nametag on it, it would be prohibitively expensive to manufacture a high grade laptop in the USA when Chinese labor is so ridiculously cheap. But I tell you, I would rather invest in my own countries economy than supporting Asia's, especially in these tough economic times when many of my fellow citizens are seeking employment. The whole problem with that pipedream is that you would never be able to touch a machine like the ASUS G73 without spending ten times its current price using the US labor force and its eight dollar minimum wage. Last time I checked, the average Chinese citizen made .57 cents an hour.
G73 country of origin?
