OK, so I am hoping somebody can help with this, since i am puzzled. Call me crazy, but i am the kind of guy who leaves his computer on overnight, and its no exception with my new G73 (best buy version). However, for some reason, it keeps going to sleep; the thing is, i have changed every power profile option i can find to make it not do so. It is set to never sleep, never turn off the HDD, and do nothing on lid closing. I have gone into the advanced options, but nothing there seems like the culprit either.

Any ideas guys? It is really annoying to leave my downloads going at night only to find they didn't make any actual progress (and thus i am no closer to having my new system set up....).

Divine_Madcat, I am on a a slow internet connection so I know all about overnight downloads! Are you using Power4Gear? If so I would switch to one of the 3 standard windows 7 power profiles. If you really like Power4Gear Hybrid Utility are you using the latest Version V1.1.42?
Also what BIOS are you on, I had a sleep issue (not exactly like yours though)and going from 207 to 209 fixed the problem I had. Good Luck Josea

Thanks for the advice, both of you. I am currently using the "Power4Gear" high performance profile, but i have no love for it, so i will certainly give the W7 defaults a try.

As it is, i am on the latest vBios and system bios (211) - it was the first thing i did when getting this system actually. :)

....also check the hibernate settings if you haven't already....maybe it's hibernating, not sleeping?
