Title says it all :D do i have to change some settings in order for the unused 2gb ram to be in use?

And does it matter if the mHz of the ram sticks are different from each other? also different brands? :p does it affect performance when your usb sticks aren't the same brand?

Your RAM will run at the speed and timings of the slowest module.

I seem to remember someone else posting about this problem before, and I think they had to buy matched modules in order to solve the 'missing' memory. I can't find the thread though, sorry.

For giggles, try swapping the sticks around in the slots and see if it changes anything. You never know.

Take 1 or two out. Start it up then shutdown and put back. That should help. Last time i repasted i was running on 4gb of ram and not the 8 that was in :D after i took two out ...restarted and then but the two back i was running on 8 gb again :)
