I was wondering what FPS you guys get with everything maxed in Dalaran. I seem to only get a 30 FPS :[.

Haha, WoW is a strange one man. It has never been optimized in the last 5 years, and doesn't know how to utilize newer hardware. Its not the G73's fault, its Blizzards.

30 FPS is higher than anything I ever got. My old laptop was trash.

I dont have any issues with FPS in WoW personally.... I have seen up to over 400 FpS registering in areas and when in raids usually 50-60 minimum 10 and 25 man...

Yeah, NWN2 has the same problem. Some areas it doesn't matter what hardware you use, video or otherwise, you're only getting 14 fps. meh.

well. . . they unlocked it for multi core processors, but that's about it.

One thing to remember about WoW video settings is that Vsync/triple buffering will cap your rates to 60 max. In Dalaran on a busy night I'd drop down to about 21-23 FPS in crowded areas, but anywhere else it'd bounce between 45 and 60 [with shadows maxed]

25 mans up to Putricide it pays to keep shadows at half or a little lower [Mostly for Marrowgar, something about Bonestorm the 5870 did NOT like] but at those settings it was still @ 45-60 depending on where/when. There may have been a few occasional lower spikes, but not enough to degrade gameplay enough for me to look for it.

This is with all other settings maxed btw [death effects off. WHY you get a decent frame boost with death effect off I have no clue. . . but you do]
