G73 xoticpc pre-order ETA

Seeing as how the xoticpc forums are already swamped with threads on this, I decided to take the humble approach and ask owners at NBR instead.

I just ordered last night with the custom finish (+5~13 business days supposedly) and was wondering how long I can expect before I receive my machine.

I've read quite a few horror stories on the full process taking up to 3 months; please lord, don't let that be the case.

 

2 months. I believe. I haven't seen anyone with 3. You might want to consider gentech or powernotebooks

 

Got mine in a little under two months. Only customizations were:

- i7 820QM (840QM was installed to my pleasent surprise)
- Windows 7 Professional 64bit (No bloatware, just essentials were installed)

I'm happy with the service from Xotic.

 

i dont see why you americans dont order from fcanada,. there isnt a wait,, dont be so cheap, and pay the extra 10-15 bucks shipping and get your lappy quicker...

 

besides your money is worth more than ours i think at the moment, you maybe be able to get it cheaper.

What canadian site like Xotic sells the G73?

 

Eurocom but all cost substantially more. There are US sites with less wait than Xotic.

It seems Xotic is currently getting screwed by their own success. My wait was a month and a week but I had zero MODs.

I guess I'll buy from gentech. Playing a guessing game with xotic doesn't seem very productive.

Still wish I could get that custom skin though...

 

PNB also has an excellent reputation. But yea if you buy from either you should get excellent service. And it is a very nice system. My second Asus. My 5th personal and 7th notebook. Things keep getting better and cost keeps coming down.

 

So Does Gentech ship the A2 out fast? Anyone bought from them when it said pre-ordered? How long did it take?

 

Ordered mine on the 28th when it was listed as preorder, it got shipped out on the 29th. And that's after I asked for ken to flash the bios too...

Still waiting for it, but I suspect that is to be blamed on canada day + independence day messing up the "business day" thing.
