Hey guys I haven't had a single problem with my G73 for the year I've owned it. But after plugging my laptop into my friends TV (after using my 42" LG TV for the past 6 months and has worked perfectly) last night when I plug it into my TV now my screen goes blank and there is no output to the TV and my laptops screen stays blank and I have to turn it off by holding the power button. HDMI displays when I turn the laptop on in BIOS up until Windows 7 is done loading then screen goes blank again and nothing happens. If I boot into safe mode HDMI out works just fine, displays on the TV and my laptops screen perfectly. I uninstalled the drivers and ran driver sweeper then I reinstalled the 11.5 drivers and I am still having the same problem. I'm stumped I don't know what else to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Hmmm. I'll try a new cable but it's just weird that it's worked with the same cable and the same driver (11.3) for a couple months now. Just all of a sudden it stopped working after I plugged it into a buddies tv. Any other ideas?

See if there is a firmware update for your buddies' TV

I plug it into my newer LG 42" and it doesn't work locks up my laptop instantly. Went to his house last night plugged it in and the image came up just fine. Same with my 24.4" Acer (hdmi) works fine. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Especially after I've been using my 42" for 6 months straight every day playing games or watching blu rays.

Yeah, the HDMI code in the TV firmware is probably not playing nice with the updated 1.4 HDMI you have, and needs an update.
