This problem involves the G73-jh, 1-1/2 year old. Slow windows load.

This problem randomly came up out of nowhere, no changes where made to the computer prior to these errors. Was running fine before this happened.

I had windows 8 dev preview installed on an added ssd and was working fine untill recently when it would load screen then just go into a black screen before the boot selection screen.

So I removed the SSD and tried re-installing windows 7 on the stock hard drive alone. And it took forever for the windows install menu to pop up (10-15 min, where as before it was instant) and I haven't successfully been able to complete a windows install yet.

I used chkdsk on my other computer with the stock drive from my G73-Jh and didn't receive any errors, also I was able to access the files on the drive just fine. I have also tried installing on the SSD and I still got the same slow speeds.

I reset the BIOS, and used both dvd drive and flash drive media in the installation of windows and I still get the same slow speeds.

Is it possibly the SATA interface on the motherboard is causing the slow speeds? Anyone have any other ideas ?

Did you install windows? What was your boot up time? Is your dvd drive working fine?

The Major problems seems to be fixed. Windows eventually installed correctly on the SSD(formatted), and the boot up is normal speed(15-30sec didn't time it). But I cant figure out why my computer took longer to load windows. I tried the USB and DVD installation of windows to rule out a problem with the DVD drive. The SSD is also working at the same speeds it was before the laptop developed problems. So all that is left is the sata controller or the memory.

    Also

When i go to ( Control Panel )>( Computer Management )> ( Disk Management ) Its taking a long time to load and there a couple other weird things going on like an installer taking a while to load at one time and at another time they start up fine, this was done long after boot.

Is there a program out there where I can test the reliability/stability of memory on an SSD ? could it also be a memory issue ? When playing a game(league of legends) it seems to be hanging randomly and its not my graphics card or processor, I run it at full fps and it has never done this since these issues developed.
