    Well,
I just finally got really tired of using an external mouse for my machine. Over the past year I've probably done a dozen software/driver/bios upgrades, none of them having worked. I was assured by Asus that these would work (eventually) because it was for sure a software issue, so never bothered to take it in for repair. I finally did enough digging over the last few days to find out that it is now a known hardware issue probably having something to do with a grounding issue.
My problem is that now that I've found out that it never was a driver issue at all, I am outside of my warranty by just a few weeks (3 to be exact). Many posts have directed me to PM Chastity, but for some reason I do not have permissions to do so. I would really like Asus to step up to the plate and offer some help with this issue after a year's worth of runaround.
Thank you for your time, and look forward to hearing from Chastity soon. I know a lot of Asus fans have had to deal with this issue and I'd love to see it taken care of, at least on my end, very soon.

Well the best thing that you could do is to disassemble your laptop, go to the touchpad part of the laptop and remove the "SILVER TAPES" and remove its residue with cotton buds and alcohol. then clean the silver screen too.

I did that with my laptop g73jh and all the touchpad problems have been gone I opened my laptop a month ago and it is still working perfect :)

Thank you both for your responses. I will do as you request and let you know when I am finished. I'd rather wait until Asus has a chance to fix this issue before I crack open my laptop personally, and cause any issue with any type of fix Asus may have in mind. Again, thanks both for your time and I will follow up shortly.

Can you give me your RMA number, as I would like to follow the repairs.
