    Hello.

I don't know what is happening, but I bought the TDU2 a couple of days ago and the game is always skipping, the graphics sometimes gets instant freeze, like when you have high detail and bad graphic card.

However as you know this is the 5870 ATI and the detail is low>medium>medium>medium.

It has the Vbios update and the last ATI Catalyst. Latest BIOS also...

I don't know what's happening. I use the Twin Turbo option, and even there it still happen. HWinFO64 tells me that the max GPU temperature during the game is about 80ºC, what I don't think is too much, so,

what do you think this problem might be related to?

Thanks in advance for your time.

Make sure you're on a high performance power option.

Is this the only game where this is happening?

Maybe your hard drive is dying?

Yes, in High Performance and Twin Turbo.

Honestly I don't play many games. The other one with the important graphics is PES 2012 where it runs perfectly in good detail.

Can the problem be related to an hard drive? If yes, the fact of being almost full can be related?

    Thanks

If it runs perfectly well on another game then it isn't a hard drive issue.

The hard drive being almost full has nothing to do with it, unless you've turned off the page file and are running everything completely off of RAM. Then, you're entire system, and not just games, might slow to a crawl.

Try running WinTimerTester while you are using Twin Turbo Mode.

    WinTimerTester 1.1
    WinTimerTester_1.1.zip

You can read more about this program here:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/7364805-post14.html

WinTimerTester will test to make sure that Twin Turbo Mode isn't screwing up your internal CPU clocks. When the clocks are running out of sync due to bus speed overclocking, this can cause some nasty frame rate problems in games that don't correct for this Windows bug.

Sounds like the problem is not with the TwinTurbo since the OP has stated the the problem occurs regardless of whether it is turned on.

I've upgraded the catalyst from 12.2 to 12.3. Seems to be better now with all parameters in MEDIUM, but sometimes the instant freezes still happen.

I don't understand a lot of GPU clocks, etc, but I'll try to do the test.

Thanks a lot for your time.

One more thing, do not leave a youtube video or the like running when playing a game. The card tends to stay at UVD clocks instead of going to the full 3D clocks in those kind of cases (or it used to when i tested this myself a coupe of months ago). There is a problem with the UVD clocks taking precedence over the clocks when using a program that requires the full 700/1000 3D clocks and it stays at 400/1000 instead.

i remember having similar problem with TDU2 and we have discussed it
my problem was that the game was stuttering a lot
the fix to this was installing the latest update from the game .... becouse the game had a lot of bugs when it came out
so make sure you have the latest update

It checks new updates everytime I enter the game! By the way, I found your topic some days ago, but it's closed, that's why I've created this one.

    Thank you all

Old threads get automatically closed after a certain time so don't worry about it.

i assume that you are using new updates with some old cracks and then ofcourse it will give you update every time you will run the game

but that is another subject that is forbidden to discuss :err:

if that is the case than you know what your problem is ...
